Authorities of the coal major said that the opencast projects were filled with rainwater, affecting the operations of coal mining in Srirampur and Mandamarri Areas from Tuesday midnight till Wednesday morning.

Ninety families in Shravanapalli will be displaced with the advent of an opencast mining project at the village, while 150 out of the total 350 families from Jenda Venkatapur were likely to be affected.

Speaking to reporters here on Friday, Sanjay Kumar informed that during his visit to Ramagundam, Modi made it clear that there was no question of privatization of Singareni. 

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said Kishan Reddy would be launching the 10th round of commercial coal mines auction in Hyderabad on June 21.

SCCL CMD N Balram said the surveillance units had received complaints that some people working in mines and offices were being shown present even though they were absent.

The award was given to Singareni in the enterprise application category.

Meanwhile, Singareni has sought permission from the Telangana government to set up a 500 MW solar plant at a solar park in Rajasthan at a cost of Rs. 2233.68 crore.

The 22 MW plant is being established at a cost of Rs 126 crore. Rs 5 crore are being spent to generate 1MW of solar power.

After the tenders called for the construction of quarters, in last January the SCCL management entered into an agreement with the contracting agency and works are expected to complete in December this year.

BRS working president KT Rama Rao said SCCL would certainly be sold to Adani if any of the two parties were voted to power.
