On July 1, the officers – Bhagender Singh, a Sub-inspector and Raghava Chary, Mohd Irshad Ali, both constables were approached by the senior citizen enquiring about a pending e-challan against her car for wrong side driving at Agrasen Island.
At a recent meeting with the representatives of the IT firms and GHMC and other related departments, the police advised these companies to implement staggered timings for their employees to alleviate traffic congestion exacerbated during incessant downpours.
The new academic year is all set to commence from Wednesday and certain areas in the city traditionally witness massive traffic congestion due to the presence of a cluster of schools.
On Saturday, the traffic police took an oath to work sincerely and contribute their best to the smooth flow of traffic on the city roads by initiating necessary action.
According to officials, a total of 1.67 crore pending traffic challans were cleared by citizens in Telangana and nearly Rs150 crore amount towards penalty was collected, thus clearing 46.36 per cent of pending challans.
The official emphasised collaborative efforts with other agencies to enhance traffic management, promote public transportation, and encourage the use of cleaner fuels.
