Hours ahead of BRS President and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao releasing the party's first list of candidates in Hyderabad, Hanumantha Rao who was in Tirupati, even threatened to contest as an independent candidate if his son was denied a ticket from Medak.

This move is expected to have a cascading effect on the political situation in the entire region, helping the BRS including in the erstwhile Nizamabad, Adilabad, Medak and even Karimnagar districts.

The list, he said, has seven changes, in the context of candidates in the constituencies of Boath, Khanapur, Wyra, Korutla, Uppal, Asifabad and Vemulawada.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is scheduled to release the first list, anticipated to be comprising names of 95-105 candidates, at the party State headquarters in Telangana Bhavan here at 2.30 pm.

Stating that Telangana secured the top position in terms of per capita income, per capita power utilisation and also sustainable development, Chandrashekhar Rao felt that intellectuals and progressive people should not relax.
