In the last two months, the erstwhile district has seen some of the most brutal stray dog attacks it ever witnessed.

On his way to Chinnamulkanur of Chigurumamidi mandal, the Minister stopped his vehicle on seeing a few agricultural labourers engaged in paddy plantation.

Recently, about 14 persons including a Tahsildar were attacked by a stray dog on the premises of the Collectorate itself. The municipal corporation is getting multiple dog attack complaints on a daily basis.

According to local people, Thota Mallaiah (75) died of ill-health on Tuesday. While preparations were being made for his final rites on Wednesday, Mallaiah’s wife Rajalachamma collapsed all of a sudden and died.

The dog, which came from Jammikunta, attacked the people on the way, was later killed by municipal workers. 

The injured persons approached doctors in Huzurabad government area hospital where they were given anti-rabies injections.
