Rao had earlier joined the BJP after being denied a ticket by the BRS at the time of the Assembly elections last year. He was expecting a BJP ticket from the Adilabad Parliament segment.

The farmers, in their letters have also demanded the government to announce Rs.25,000 as compensation for each acre of crop that suffered damages due to unseasonal rains or went dry due to water shortage.

He said that he would welcome Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy into BJP if he wishes to join the party.

After two failed terms, people had rejected Shining India under the leadership of Sonia Gandhiji.
