An additional 25 lakh hectares of land will get water once the irrigation projects taken up by the TRS government are completed, said the Agriculture Minister
He stated that the Rythu Vedikas will serve as platforms for farmers to discuss their crops, exchange and undergo training for modern agricultural practices, and also create awareness through agriculture and allied departments.
He asked the farmers to deliberate over such issues pertaining to farmers at the Rythu Vedikas being set up by the State government and find solutions to their problems
Minister said while CM K Chandrashekhar Rao was taking steps for the welfare of the farming community, the Centre was creating confusion among the farmers through its policies
Rythu Vedikas would provide the much-needed platform for farmers to sit and discuss issues related to growing crops and price for farm produce, he said.
He said that Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, 24 hours free electricity supply to agricultural pump sets and irrigation facility had restored the past glory to farmers.
Speaking after inaugurating Rythu Vedhika at Palitham village in Peddapalli mandal, Eashwar said Telangana was the only State in the country constructing Rythu Vedhikas.
Indrakaran Reddy said awareness and training programmes would be conducted at Rythu Vedikas soon, to train farmers in adopting innovative farming methods.
