Serilingampally, Kapra, Tirumalgiri, Quthbullapur and Balanagar witnessed heavy rainfall on Tuesday

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has taken down the heavy rainfall warning they had posted a few days back.

Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of North Arabian Sea and some more parts of south Gujarat region, south Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh and most parts of North Bay of Bengal and more parts of West Bengal today

Weatherman says southwest monsoon will hit Kerala only around June 3 and will come to Telangana only in the second week of June

The partial lunar eclipse will be visible for a short span from the north-eastern region (except Sikkim), some parts of West Bengal, some costal parts of Odisha and Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the IMD said.

The cyclonic storm over Arabian Sea, Tauktae, however, has brought down the maximum day time temperatures in Hyderabad by seven degrees to 32.6 degree Celsius

The day that began with typical summer conditions had the weather changing around the afternoon and spells of rain greeting different parts of the city

IMD, predicts that the weather in the city will be pleasant between May 16 and 19, with rain or thundershowers towards evening due to the presence of cyclonic storm, Tauktae in east central Arabian Sea

Earlier in the morning, IMD also predicted light to moderate intensity rains over Haryana, Rajasthan and its adjoining areas in the next two hours

While the day started off on a dry, hot note, late-afternoon saw showers in many areas across the city, ranging from a light drizzle of 0.5 mm rainfall recorded at AWS at Malkajgiri to 33 mm at Gachibowli.

"Hyderabad's temperature will be normal, and the city will receive light to moderate rains," said IMD Director Dr K Nagaratna

The highest rainfall in the GHMC area till 4 pm was 34.8mm in Chandanagar, while Madhapur recorded 18.8mm and Gachibowli recorded 17.3mm.

IMD Hyderabad has also issued a warning for thunderstorms at isolated places in the State over the next five days
