Both the national parties had dubbed the BRS a non-contender in the parliament elections, but the bus yatra proved that the BRS was still a force to reckon with in the State, he said.

The surge in polling percentage is being attributed to several factors, including favorable weather conditions and increased voter awareness.

The huge turnout of people at the former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s road show in the district created a positive impact and there was a silent voting in favour of BRS, Nageswara Rao explained.

He thanked the party cadre and leaders for working hard for over 50 days for BRS candidate P Venkatrami Reddy.

The tension was created between the rival groups when BRS MLA Palla Rajeshwar Reddy and Congress leader Kommuri Rakesh Reddy have reached the same polling station.

Among the seven Assembly segments in Chevella Parliamentary constituency, the BRS won four segments, including Serilingampally, Rajendranagar, Maheswaram and Chevella.

In this backdrop, Chandrashekhar Rao is learnt to have decided to reconstitute the party committees at all levels i.e. from village committees to the State executive committee.

The results of this by-election would be announced on June 5. The by-election for the constituency was being conducted following the resignation of BRS MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy.
