Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao charged that the Congress government was yet again deceiving the farmers.

Kishan Reddy also addressed Rahul Gandhi in the post, saying “Mr. Rahul Gandhi, your promises can't gloss over this blatant political opportunism! The people of Bharat are watching.”

Addressing the party cadre in Ramachandrapuram in the Patancheru assembly segment, Harish Rao said the BRS would take the fight against defectors to the Supreme Court if needed to get them disqualified.

Though he insisted that the Congress was not indulging in vendetta politics, his words indicated exactly the opposite.

The tally of BRS MLAs, who joined the Congress from BRS, has now increased to 10.

"Promising one thing and delivering another has become a habit of the Congress," says Senior BRS leader and Siddipet MLA T Harish Rao.

Former minister Niranjan Reddy argued that seeking complaints from farmers regarding loan waivers would create disputes among them and said the Congress party, which gained power by making election promises, was now looking for excuses to escape those promises.

According to the GO, the waiver would be limited to Rs.2 lakh per one farmer’s family. The food security card database of the Civil Supplies department would be considered as a parameter to define a farmer’s family.

If the Congress leaders believed that MLAs from other parties were joining the Congress impressed by the work of the government, they should ask all those who defected to resign and seek a fresh mandate from the public, he said.

Addressing a news conference at Telangana Bhavan, he said that by taking the BRS MLAs into its fold, the Congress party had upset the priorities for which the people had voted.
