According to the report, the number of heatwave days is expected to surpass the normal range by about 2 days to 4 days across various parts of Telangana. 

Dr. A. Shravani, a scientist at IMD-H, stated, "The city may experience average maximum temperatures surpassing 40 degrees Celsius by the end of March. There is also a possibility of very light to light rains offering some relief after March 21."

While the festival has historically been synonymous with bonfires and winter chills, this year's weather forecast presents a stark contrast.

IMD predicts that minimum temperatures will stay above normal until February.

Afternoons may retain a slight warmth with cooler night times

IMD predicts heavy rainfall over Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Maharashtra on Saturday and Sunday, as well as over the northeast for the next three days, with a subsequent decrease in activity.

According to the data released by the Telangana State Development Planning Society, several areas in and around the city have already received substantial rainfall.

As per the updated weather forecast, the city is bracing for a more intense spell of rain starting from the evening and continuing until Friday.

Within a span of 30 minutes, from 8:30 am to 9:00 am on Thursday, the suburb of Gachibowli witnessed a heavy rainfall of 13 mm.

The heat wave is very likely to continue in isolated pockets over Vidarbha and abatement thereafter.

IMD said the cyclone would intensify further gradually during the next 48 hours and move nearly north-northwestwards during the next 3 days.

There is also a possibility of thunderstorms with lightning at isolated places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalaseema.

Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty winds with a speed of 40-50 kmph likely at isolated places over NCAP & Yanam, SCAP and Rayalaseema," IMD stated in their bulletin.

The downpour started in Rajendranagar and gradually covered Charminar, Saroornagar, LB Nagar, and eventually the entire Hyderabad.
