BRS has called for a protest across Telangana on Thursday to demand that the state government completely waive off Rs 2 lakh crop loans of all farmers without any restrictions.
The Congress had also found fault with the location of the Yadadri plant, saying that it was far from coal mines which could lead to coal transport costs of over Rs.800 crore per annum, and went to the extent of terming the project unviable.
They alleged that a large number of farmers were excluded from the list of crop loan waiver beneficiaries list. They warned that if the government failed to provide crop loans waivers to all the farmers, they would intensify the agitation
Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, who defected to Congress, has been appointed as Agriculture Advisor of State and IAS officers were transferred following orders issued on Tuesday.
Tension prevailed as the the Congress attempted to take a rally via the MLA camp office, where the BRS was organising a meeting with cadre and farmers on the loan waiver issue in Siddipet on Tuesday.
The protests will be held in mandal and constituency headquarters across Telangana to pressurise the State government into fulfilling its loan waiver promises.
Taking to X, Rama Rao shared photographs of a recent event in Nizamabad, where a sweet shop owner displayed a huge banner in front of it, stating that "shop is closed due to police harassment."
Harish Rao slammed the State government for adopting undemocratic policies, stating that arresting farmers for demanding the implementation of the loan waiver was a severe violation of their rights.
In a series of posts on X, BRS spokesperson Krishank Manne listed several properties owned by Congress leaders, questioning HYDRA's failure to initiate action against them.
BRS working president KT Rama Rao said the decision to place Rajiv Gandhi's statue at the prominent location contradicted the original intention to honour Telangana Talli.
Not sure whether the initiative was being continued or shelved, the School Education department is learnt to have recently written to the State government seeking clarity.
