Passengers allege that the MMTS services seen as not profitable were being cancelled often due to various reasons such as track maintenance, and operational factors.

The idea is to have these buses deployed in different localities, with a focus on the IT Corridor, that are not linked with the mass transport projects.

Meanwhile, railway authorities also announced that Nanded-Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (Mumbai) Rajya Rani Express will remain cancelled on August 13 and 14.

To clear rush of passengers, the South Central Railway (SCR) has extended the run of certain special trains between various destinations.

MMTS connects the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad and the outskirts. The popular suburban trains cater to the needs of intra-city and suburban commuters. 

The MMTS services which were being operated across 48 Rkms is now extended to nearly 90 Rkms and to cater to the passengers of the new sections, the number of services has also been increased and now stands at 106.

South Central Railway (SCR) requested rail users to make note of it and plan their travel accordingly.

Hyderabad: The South Central Railway (SCR) has cancelled certain MMTS services due to maintenance works at the Hussain Sagar junction station on Sunday. Trains which were cancelled are Lingampalli – Hyderabad (47135), Lingampalli – Hyderabad (47136), Lingampalli – Hyderabad (47137), Hyderabad – Lingampalli (47109), Hyderabad – Lingampalli (47111) and Hyderabad – Lingampalli (47114).  

Officials said a technical glitch in the signalling led to the incident.
