The attack, which targeted the vehicles of former Ministers T Harish Rao, Puvvada Ajay Kumar, and P Sabitha Indra Reddy during their visit to flood affected areas in Khammam, was termed as a desperate move by the Congress which failed to support the people in their time of need

The incident occurred when Harish Rao along with former ministers P Sabitha Indra Reddy, Puvvada Ajay Kumar, ex-MP Nama Nageswara Rao and others visited Bokkalagadda and Venkatesh Nagar in Khammam city to distribute essential commodities to families affected by the recent floods.

The affected families were outraged that the three ministers, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Tummala Nageswara Rao, in the district had failed miserably in taking immediate relief measures

Former MLA Vanama Venkateswara Rao along with the party workers staged a protest at Martyrs Stupa at bus stand centre in Kothagudem.
