South Central Railway successfully finished and inaugurated a 16.7 km segment of electrified third track connecting Chirala and Bapatla. This addition complements the extensive 288 km-long project, involving tripling and electrification, between Vijayawada and Gudur.
The special trains include Kacheguda- Kakinada Town (07653) to run on October 19 and 26 and Kakinada Town – Kacheguda (07654) to run on October 20 and 27

The 76 kms new rail line between Manoharabad – Siddipet has been completed at a cost of nearly Rs.1,200 crore as part of the Manoharabad – Kothapalli new railway line development work.
He said that track laying works of Kothapally-Manoharabad have been completed upto Siddipet town. Safety check was also done by operating a few trains on a trial basis.
This section is crucial for connecting the northern and eastern parts of the country with the southern states, which has been congested with a steady rise in passenger and freight trains.
