The Rachakonda police arrested a man who was transporting ganja consignment to Maharashtra on Saturday.

Kodad rural police on Monday arrested three persons, including two women, and seized 50 kg of ganja worth Rs.12.5 lakh during a vehicle check at the inter-state border check-post at Ramapuram in the district.

On being interrogated, the four confessed to smuggling to earn money and that they procured the ganja in Odisha to sell it to youngsters of Adilabad town.

The arrested - Kalpathi Neethu (45), Kalapathi Simrah (20), Kalapathi Mamtha (55) and Surekha (40), were allegedly procuring ganja from Odhisa.

The Rachakonda Special Operations Team (LB Nagar), caught seven persons who were allegedly procuring and selling drugs on Tuesday night.

Acting on tip off, the SOT team along with the Balapur police caught Kurasam Rajesh Dora (23), a resident of East Godavari.

The arrested persons are Malayli Swamy alias Shiva (31) and Raamar (39), both natives of Tamil nadu and residents of Chandrayangutta. Two others Rajesh and Chandra Sekhar are absconding.
