The Cong has fielded K Jana Reddy’s son K Raghuveer Reddy, while the BRS picked former Nalgonda MLA K Bhupal Reddy’s brother K Krishna Reddy as its candidate and BJP fielded former BRS MLA Saidi Reddy

The SP said that tight security arrangements have been made in all the polling stations across the district so that all the people could cast their vote on May 13 without fear.

Fourteen polling stations were classified as Maoist-affected ones, which would be under the protection of Central armed forces. The voting at these stations would be webcast, besides being under CCTV surveillance.

Tight security arrangements have been made by deploying 2,247 personnel from district and central armed forces, informed Superintendent of Police, Sunpreet Singh

"We will take steps to see that paddy from outside the State was not allowed into the market," he said, adding that the the promise of crop loan waiver up to Rs.2 lakh would be implemented on or before August 15.
