The victims were Dileep (35), his wife Vinoda (28), daughters Suputrika (5) and Khansi (1). The family hailed from Qutbullapur in Hyderabad. The bodies were shifted to the Government Hospital Sangareddy.

The police had to resort to a mild lathi-charge to disperse the agitators.

Vikas Raj, Chief Electoral Officer, Telangana, in an interview to a national television channel, said arrangements were in place for non-stop monitoring of the polling in Munugode

Sanjay, who was on the way to Munugode as Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders were not leaving the by-polls constituency in Munugode, was stopped by the police on the Vijaywada Highway in Abdullapurmet on Wednesday night.

The polling process began at all 298 polling stations in the constituency in Nalgonda district at 7 a.m. and will continue till 6 p.m.
